WHAT WILL WE DO?

PROGRAM

Detailed program
10:00 – Group meeting
10:00-12:00 – City sightseeing tour of Perm
You will drive along the central streets of Perm, learn how Perm was born and developed from a factory settlement into a provincial capital, what the words “pera maaa” and the saying “Permyak – salty ears” mean. See merchant mansions on Sibirskaya Street, the obelisks of the Siberian Outpost in honour of the arrival of Emperor Alexander I. Drive along Komsomolsky Prospekt with its Stalinist Empire style buildings and the Tower of Death. Hear about the works of Pasternak, Green, Chekhov and how they are connected with Perm.
12:00-12:30 – Tasting of Komi-Permyak dishes at Chöskyt Kerku café

12:30-14:00 – Transfer to the Khokhlovka Architectural and Ethnographic Museum
Not far from Perm there is a unique open‑air museum – Khokhlovka. On a peninsula surrounded on three sides by the Kama Sea, wooden buildings from the 17th–20th centuries are located. At the top of the Khokhlovka hill, like ships, rise churches from the late 17th – early 18th centuries – the Transfiguration Church and the Mother of God Church. In sunny weather their wooden domes shine like silver. The secrets of church construction have been preserved for centuries.
The museum will amaze you with its variety of landscapes. One moment you are walking through fields, the next you have climbed to the top of a hill with a stunning view of the Kama Sea (Kama Reservoir), and a few minutes later you are in a deep forest – at a hunter’s lodge.
14:00-16:00 – Participation in a game program with characters in traditional Prikamye costumes
An unusual, playful adventure awaits you! The interactive program takes place at various museum venues: Komi-Permyak and Russian farmsteads, a hunter’s lodge, on the banks of the Kama, at the agricultural complex. You will play Russian and Prikamye folk games with reconstructed ancient props (malecheny, rushnyky, a dancing “strigusha” doll, etc.), learn to play flat bells (bilo), hear the story of Permian salt extraction from Solenos, and make a souvenir to take with you!
16:00-17:30 – Transfer back to Perm
